ELL Tutoring

The Mission: to improve literacy so English Language Learners can pass their tests at the end of the year.
2017 Results: These students were 4th and 5th graders, who struggled with reading, due in part to difficulty with the English language. We tutored 18 ELL students within Pecan Park Elementary School.  With the help of our volunteer tutors, all of our ELL students passed their tests!  Also, our efforts helped Pecan Park increase its grade within the Jackson Public School district.  The school was rated a “D” school and is now a “B” school!  We are looking forward to building on our relationship with Pecan Park and to continuing our work with these students.
